India's external debt rose by 10.7% to $717.9 billion in December 2024, compared to $648.7 billion the previous year, according to the finance ministry's report. On a quarterly basis, the debt increased by 0.7% from $712.7 billion in September 2024. The external debt to GDP ratio stood at 19.1%, showing a slight rise from the previous quarter.
